A Message from the Art Cellar of Houston Team March 18, 2020 14:38
Good Day Everyone:
First, we would like to thank you all for your patience while we work to determine the best course of action for our company during the Corona Virus pandemic. We have seen so many changes in the last 7 days. The initial response was heartbreak; however, after taking time to absorb, assess, and respond, we see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our main take away from all of the reports is that events larger than 10 people should not take place until the recommended social distancing has been lifted. What does that mean for us?
While the Art Cellar of Houston has focused on hosting art parties for groups of 10 or more the last five years, with social distancing in force we no longer have that option. Going forward, we will focus on art parties of less than 10 individuals, with each individual at their own table work space at our studio. We will also offer private painting lessons for those interested. Simply call 832.596.7983 for details. We are also working to create weekly online classes for those looking for an in-depth lesson as one would find in our studios.
Please remember our Mindful Movement Summer Camp will begin on June 1st. We are extending the Early Bird pricing of $225 per child until May 1st. Our classes are small and tend to sell out quickly. Click here to register today: https://
The Art Is An Outdoor Market events have been suspended until the social distancing order has been lifted by all government entities. Thankfully all of the property managers are excited to reschedule the events at that time. We will keep you posted on our schedule through the summer for those markets.
In the meantime, we are working diligently to provide you all with our Art Is An Outdoor Market online store. There you will be able to purchase art work, art products and supplies, healthy items from our local Houston makers and farmers, pet snacks, and more. The Art Cellar of Houston will have our Art Is Happiness bags online for acrylics, sketching, pastels, and watercolors. These bags will have the basic art supplies along with instructions for two paintings. A great option for those little ones looking for something to do.
We know this is a lot of change, and will take time to implement. We plan to email all our mailing list once the changes are implemented; post to social media; include through our News page; and notify our district of the changes. These changes are a positive for The Art Cellar of Houston, and we look forward to growing with you all. Thank you again for your patience, love, and support through this tough time.
