This class taught by Laura Teigrob will introduce both Tai Chi and Chi Kung forms, with a stronger emphasis on Chi Kung. It will also include standing meditative practice, balance and flexibility exercises. Tai Chi and Chi Kung are closely related Chinese disciplines that use coordinated movements, breathing and meditation to promote health and wellness. They improve balance, circulation, flexibility, strength, reduce stress and boost the immune system. Tai Chi contains all the health benefits of Chi Kung, as well as having martial applications. However, Chi Kung is a quicker way to access these benefits, as the movements are simpler and allow one to incorporate the breathing and meditative aspects much sooner.  

Laura Teigrob began studying Tai Chi and Chi Kung as complementary systems in 2008, and is proficient in Chi Kung forms, Yang-style open-hand forms, martial applications and Wu-style weapons forms including the sword, saber and staff. 

Time: 12-1pm, doors open 30 minutes prior!
