Acton Academy Cy-Fair Art Club, Thu 3-430P,
2025-2026 School Year
The Acton Academy Cy-Fair Art Club is offered to children (Age 5+) at Acton Cy-Fair on Jones Road. The art club will feature 15-20 minutes of art history about an artist, followed by step-by-step instructions to guide participants toward creating a unique art project in the artist's medium and style. Children will be working on different art projects weekly. This link is to provide you the option to reserve each month we are in session for the 2025-2026 school year, starting September 4th, 2025, and ending May 5th, 2026. Fee breakdown by semester includes all supplies for the semester.
Fall Semester Fee (Sep 4th to Dec 4th) 12 weeks = Total Fee $360 per child
Spring Semester Fee (Jan 15th to May 5th) 16 weeks = Total Fee $480 per child
The Art Club is every Thursday from 3 to 430p, with a break at 45 minutes (or as needed by students).
Acrylic Painting on Canvas
Acrylic painting on canvas will explore the primary colors, blending to create secondary and tertiary colors, drawing with a paintbrush, and creating dimensions with colors.
Sketching Basics
We will uncover the basics of sketch creating two drawings reflecting highlights and shading. The first part of the class will consist of four warm-up sketches inspiring the children to explore their creative juices. The second drawing will be wrapped around the artist we learn this week. We will focus on highlighting and shading each drawing with pencils and charcoal.
Pastels
We will teach the essentials of how to color with Pastels. This includes color blocking, layering, and using highlights to blend.
Watercolor Basics
We will explore the color wash technique, and practice layering light, medium, and dark colors to create dimension.
Exploring Anime
We will review the history of anime along with the characteristics of people and animals drawn in this style. Participants will be required to create a drawing reflecting these elements, highlights, and shading. We will use pencil colors and pastels to color the creations.
Air Dry Clay
Let's sculpt together with Air-Dry Clay. This two party class with show the children the pinch pot technique with air dry clay. In the second part of this class, (clay has dried) we will show the children how to paint their sculptures.
Please pack snacks and beverages as this is not included in our price! Painting supplies and instructions will be provided to your child.
